The Best Slow Cooked Pork Tenderloin
Those might be some mighty words, but I can tell you, they are true. Pork tenderloin, has very little fat in it. Which means, as we all know, very little flavor.
Tenderloin can be tricky to cook and in no time at all can become dry. For this recipe, we are cooking it over a bed of sweet onions and then basting it with the most delicious balsamic brown sugar sauce. NO DRIED OUT PORK HERE.
How to Slow Cook Balsamic Brown Sugar Pork Loin
This is the easiest slow cooker pork tenderloin recipe. Basically you set it and forget it until about an hour before it’s done. That’s when you make the delicious glaze to baste the tenderloin. Make enough so you have extra to top when it’s all done!
- Slice sweet onions and smash some fresh garlic into chunks.
- Layer the onions into the bottom of your slow cooker and add broth.
- Make a few cuts in the tenderloin and stuff the garlic in.
- Season with spices and garlic.
- Set to low for 4-6 hours.
- Make the sauce, baste the tenderloin a few times in the last hour or two.
- Slice and serve.

Ingredients
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 2 T balsamic vinegar
- 1 ½ - 2 boneless pork tenderloin
- 2 clove garlic, chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground sage
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Glaze
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 T cornstarch
- 3 T balsamic vinegar
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 ½ tablespoons soy sauce
Instructions
Slice sweet onions and chop some fresh garlic into chunk.
Layer the onions into the bottom of your slow cooker and add broth and 2T balsamic vinegar.
Make a few cuts in the tenderloin and stuff the garlic chunks in.
Season the tenderloin with spices and remaining minced garlic.
Cover and set to low for 4-6 hours.
With an hour or so left, make the sauce by combining the glaze ingredients in a small saucepan.
Bring to simmer and stir just until beginning to thicken.
Baste the tenderloin a few times in the last hour or two, reserving a little glaze for serving.
Slice and serve with remaining glaze.
